“…an especially stunning belt from Kristian Espiritu… [makes] for an exemplary storytelling experience from start to finish.”

Socks Whitemore, Stage Raw

Kristian Espiritu (they/she/siya) is a queer Filipinx multi-disciplinary storyteller. They are interested in queer and BIPOC stories that seek to deconstruct colonial mentality, challenge mononormativity, explore sensuality, and serve as community care. She also dreams of starring as a queer space traveler in a Sci-Fi or dystopian musical. Just sayin’.

Most recently, Kristian has appeared throughout several Boston theaters including Lyric Stage Company (Assassins, The Drowsy Chaperone), The Hungtington Theatre (The Heart Sellers), and Wheelock Family Theatre (Mr. Popper’s Penguins). Additional credits include School of Rock (1st Nat’l Tour), Here Lies Love (The Public), Learning How To Read By Moonlight (Leviathan Lab), Interstate, A New Musical (East West Players), The Rise and Fall of Holly Fudge (Merrimack Repertory Theater), Once on This Island (Pioneer Theater Co), Little Shop of Horrors (Music Theatre of Connecticut). TV: Younger, Ray Donovan, Hunters, and HBO Max’s Love Life with Anna Kendrick. Check out the NEWS tab for current appearances!

Kristian is also a certified Consent Forward Artist, passionate about creating safe, consent-focused spaces for the theater and beyond. Intimacy Direction includes Appropriate (Hovey Players), Steel Pier and A Little Night Music (Sullivan Rep), Nüwa in Fairyland (Chuang Stage), and Chagrin Valley (Burlington Players). She is currently the resident Intimacy Director for Sullivan Rep.

But wait there’s more! Kristian is also a fiber artist, specializing in mindfully made macramé art. Their small business, How Bout Knot, was launched in 2020 in response to the shutdown during the pandemic and the social injustices against Black, indigenous and POC bodies. Weaving together their passion for storytelling, sustainability, and solidarity, their hand-tied macramé is meant to spark compassion and curiosity for the Self, for the earth, and for others. You can browse their functional and decorative collections HERE.

They’re also a baby beginner at pole dancing, learning to be in one’s body and re-learning how to dance for themself.

In all things, they are a student, a dreamer, and a creator.

Kristian is currently Boston based, and can be a NY and LA local hire.
